ITU-T Standardisation Tutorial for GISFI Members and Participants

Contents: The Standardization tutorial will cover background information on how standardization works and how participants can increase their effectiveness as well as a simulation of a standards-setting meeting. Participants coming from academia, industry and government will gain practical and theoretical knowledge about international standardization. In interactive role plays, participants will learn the art of reaching consensus.

In order to accommodate various requests, the deadline for full paperssubmission is extended by 10 days, i.e. 10 May 2010.
Organized by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) in partnership withSTES,GISFI,CMAI, andITU-APT Foundation of India, withIEEE ComSocas Technical Co-Sponsor, and supported byCiscoandNokia Siemens Networks,Beyond the Internet- Innovations for future networks and services-will focus on evolution of Internet technologies towards future networks and services from a wide perspective, including both technology and socio-economic angles. It is the third in a series of peer-reviewed academic conferences that aims at increasing the dialogue between experts working on the standardization of information and communications technologies (ICTs) and academia. The deadline for theCall for papersis30 April 2010. A prize fund totaling$10,000will be awarded to the three best papers. The winning papers will be evaluated for publication in a special edition ofIEEE Communications Magazine, with all accepted papers made available from theIEEE Xploreonline catalogue. Young Author Recognition certificates will also be issued.
